Tomato: Blue Beauty
Gorgeous, deep blue-black shoulders make this unique among slicing types. The plant produces lots of meaty pink beefsteak-shaped tomatoes with a lovely dark blue Anthocyanin top. If the fruits get enough sunlight they can turn completely dark blue/black! They are stable on the vine for longer than most and have good, sunburn, and crack resistance. Very good complex and deep flavor. The fruit is a modest beefsteak-type slicer, weighing up to 8 ounces. This recent Brad Gates introduction was selected from a cross between Beauty King and a blue tomato.
