Pea: Wando Heat Tolerant
This superior pea emerged in 1943. Can be planted later than most varieties because of its significant heat tolerance, but also pollinates well under cold conditions. Wando pea plants are high-yielding, producing an abundance of short, dark green shelling pods even in warmer weather. The peas are delicious and suitable for freezing. The plants are sturdy and vining, usually reaching 18 to 36 inches in height.

Peas do well when it's cool (think spring & fall). For the highest yields, make sure they have a trellis to climb. This ensures more of the plant gets sun. Continually harvest ripe pods to increase the harvest time. If saving for seed &/or soup, leave the pods on the vines until they dry & the seeds (peas) become hard.
