The Rattlesnake bean is gorgeous! The unique color of dark purple stripes on top of dark green skin. Vigorous vines will yield for the entire season if you keep them picked. Beans are pretty long compared to other pole beans at 8-10 inches. A home garden standard for generations. It's known to handle hot, humid, and drought types of weather. Rattlesnake beans hail from the Southwestern United States, particularly the Hopi Indians, and are sown with the aid of Kokopelli, a mythological being associated with fertility and germination. Sadly, these beans turn green once cooked and lose their mottled appearance.
